Keep The Blue Pearl Green!
Our hotel has implemented a variety of green practices aimed at reducing waste and conserving energy resources. We are always 'thinking green' in what we buy, how we dispose of un-needed materials, and run a socially responsible, eco-friendly, 'green' hotel.

Take care of Playa del Carmen Landfill: all PC monitors, keyboards, thermostats with mercury, batteries, all T.V.s, all remote controls, telephones, all housekeeping containers that contain soap, paper, plastic, aluminum, cardboard boxes are recycled through the City or disposed of properly

Use of glass and ceramic reusable glassware in all guestrooms, no disposable
Changed all property lighting to energy efficient bulbs.
Use of environmentally safe cleaning chemicals
Educate and reward our team for greening the premises and Playa del Carmen
Lecture at local schools to promote recycling and green actions
Any unused paint, old caulking, aerosols, etc are properly disposed of at the Hazardous Products Center.
Linen re-use program allowing guests the option to reuse their linens/towels
Paper products are made from recycled materials: paper towels, toilet paper and facial tissue whenever they meet our quality standards
Other recycled products: all paper and cardboard from the office
Use of low flow water devices in the kitchen and bathrooms
Participate in socially responsible donation programs such as “Give a Toy Get a smile”
Donate used linens and kitchen ware to local charities
Partner with Turtle Conservation Programs
Setup a “green library” in the lobby with books and games for adults and kids
Information for our guests about local flora and fauna and how to protect endangered species such as Corals and Turtles
Refurnishing of green areas with local and endangered species

Green Policies

At the Blue Pearl Suites we are committed to protect and minimize our impact on the environment. Our mission is to establish environmental standards of operation, create policies designed to conserve natural resources, educate and inspire our guests and team members and to partner with local and environmentally friendly businesses.

Our hotel will adhere to the following:

Implement strategic environmental practices in the operation of our hotel in accordance to government regulations and exceeding our obligations
Manage resources consumed in an effort to reduce use of electric, gas, water and waste usage
Educate and engage our owners, team members, guests and vendors in our commitment to protect the environment
Always consider our commitment to the environment when making business decisions
Install low energy lighting throughout the hotel
Turn off non-essential equipment and lights when not in use and invite our guests to do the same
Implement a hotel recycling program that meets and exceeds our Municipality regulations
Purchase supplies made with recycled content and products that can be used more than once and/or recycled.
Discard toxic materials and products that contain them in a proper way. Discard only things that cannot be re-used or recycled.
Use electronic or digital communications before using paper/print based communications
Encourage our guests and team members to use non pollutant transportation such as bicycles whenever practical
Offer to our guests excursions that promote the discovery of our natural setting and culture with eco-friendly and socially responsible companies
Offer to our guests ways to minimize their impact on the environment and opportunities of donations to local and international conservation initiatives
Work with our municipal authorities and associations to make Playa del Carmen a sustainable tourist destination
